DMN is a community-based newspaper. We believe in Milan; the direction Milan is headed and the future it aims to achieve. We want to be there every step of the way, and we want the citizens of Milan to go there with us. Discover Milan News wants to be your voice. If you have ideas, stories, comments, or suggestions you would like the people of Milan to read, please feel free to submit them to the paper and allow us to be your voice.

Owner Dave MacPherson developed DMN four years ago. He saw a need for community-based information. He saw that the people of Milan were tired of the doom and gloom that seems to be all the media is capable of bringing. So, Dave dedicated his concept to bringing out the best in Milan.

It’s true that sometimes tragedy slaps us all hard in the face and when it does, DMN does not shirk its responsibility to speak about it. Our reporters do not look for the sensationalist aspects of such tragedy, but the humanity. We treat such stories with our deepest concern and our utmost attempt to help in any way that we can.

But life is not all tragedy. Life in Milan is, more times than not, the simple life of people dealing with their jobs, their families, and paying their bills. They do not need sensationalism hitting them in the face at every turn, so DMN accentuates the positive of life in Milan.

Milan, like every town, has its share of problems and troubles but because of that, we need to look more closely at the things that make life worth living and enjoying. We highlight the dedicated people that bring us all the events we enjoy as we show their perseverance to make sure those events are a success. From the dedicated teachers of our schools to the public servants that work tirelessly to keep Milan moving forward, DMN reports on it all.
